It’s Saturday morning, your eyes aren’t even open yet and all you want is a cup of coffee.  As you get to the coffee pot, you see it.  You are face to face with the list…The Honey-Do List.  Your first thought is, “Now I’m going to miss the game!”  Then you realize that if you use CLR, the list will be cut down to size.  You pour your cup of coffee.  After you take a sip, you look down at the list and try to decide what job to tackle first.  You decide to start with…

Showerhead – If your showerhead is not giving you the water pressure that it once was and is beginning to look old, you don’t need a new showerhead…you need CLR.  CLR will clean out calcium build-up in the showerhead’s jets and clean the finish to where it looks new.

To clean your showerhead, use a 50-50 mixture of water mixed with CLR to remove deposits that are blocking the flow of water and to clean your head.  While wearing household rubber gloves, submerge the sprayer head into the solution.  After two minutes remove the sprayer head from the solution and immediately rinse with cold water.  If there are still deposits, repeat the process.  CLR will clean the head’s finish and clear out the sprayer's jets allowing the water to flow freely. CLR is safe on chrome and stainless steel as long as the fixture is in good condition. Do not use CLR on galvanized metal or cast iron. We always recommend that you test a small area before you begin cleaning.

Coffee Maker –Have you noticed that your coffee maker is taking longer and longer to make a pot of coffee and that your pot is stained?  No, it’s not time to buy a new coffee maker.  It’s time for CLR.  CLR will clear out the calcium that’s been building up in the machine and will clean those coffee stains from your pot.

To clean your coffee maker, mix one part CLR to eight parts water and run the solution through the maker as if you were making coffee.  Once the cycle is complete, rinse out any remaining CLR by running two complete cycles of full pots of cold, clean water through the coffee maker. Do not use CLR in Gevalia coffee makers or in any machine that holds water permanently.  Cleaning coffee pots and tea kettles is a snap with CLR.  Pour enough CLR into the pot to cover the bottom and swish the liquid around in the pot.  Add one cup of hot water to the pot, allow the mixture to soak for two minutes and then thoroughly rinse with cold, clean water.

Toilet Bowl – When it comes to cleaning the exterior of your toilet, nothing cleans like CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner.  Spray, wipe, thoroughly rinse the surface with cold, clean water and your toilet will shine.  CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner makes short work of stubborn dirt, calcium, lime, hard water stains and soap scum.

Faucet – To clean your bathroom and kitchen faucets, use a 50-50 mixture of water mixed with CLR to bring back the shine to your faucets.  While wearing household rubber gloves, wipe down your faucet with the mixture using a clean cloth or sponge and then rinse the faucet thoroughly with cold, clean water.  Never leave CLR on any surface for more than two minutes.  CLR is safe on chrome and stainless steel as long as the fixture is in good condition.  Do not use CLR on galvanized metal or cast iron and always test a small area of the surface before you begin cleaning.

CLR can be used to clean all of your outdoor faucets too.  Before the first frost, turn off your exterior water faucets to prevent your pipes from freezing and then cracking.  At the same time, clean your faucets with CLR.  CLR is specially formulated to remove the calcium, lime and rust that built up on your faucet over the spring and summer.

Windows – Nothing makes the outside world look better than looking out a crystal clear window.  This fall, before winter rolls around, clean the water spots from your sprinkler system off your windows and screens.  On those cold winter days, you won’t be any warmer, but you’ll feel better with the sun streaming through your beautifully clean windows.

Cleaning the water spots off of your windows and screens is simple.  While wearing household rubber gloves, use CLR and a sponge or clean cloth to clean off the hard water stains from the outside of your windows that have built up all year long from your sprinkler system.  Then, before you put your screens back on the windows, use a sponge dampened with CLR to clean your metal or fiberglass screens and then rinse them with cold, clean water.

Washing Machine –If your clothes are starting to look dingy, you may be starting to build up calcium, lime and rust on the inside of your washing machine.  To clean out the build-up, run the machine without soap and add a ½ cup of CLR to the main cycle or once the machine is at least halfway filled with water.  Be sure to pour in an additional 3 cups of water after you have poured in CLR.  After the full cycle has completed, run an additional full cycle with just water to clean out any remaining CLR.

Cleaning out the calcium, lime and rust build-up in your washing machine is not the only use for CLR.  For all of your indoor and outdoor projects, make sure to put CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust remover on your shopping list.  CLR is a fast and effective way to clean away calcium and lime deposits as well as scale from porcelain, chrome, glassware, fiberglass, stainless steel and grout.  Clean your calcium encrusted outdoor faucets, your rusty siding, tools and the hard water stains left from the sprinkler system on your outdoor windows.  After you clean your tools, just to remind you that there is also fun to be had outside, wipe your golf clubs down the same way.  Your clubs will shine like the first day you bought them!  Do not use CLR on wood, clothing, wallpaper, carpeting, marble, terrazzo, natural stone, colored grout, painted or metallic glazed surfaces, plastic laminates, Formica or aluminum.  CLR is corrosive if left on too long.

Dishwasher – If your dishwasher isn’t cleaning your dishes as well as you would like, you may have calcium, lime and rust building up in your machine.  To clean out the calcium, lime and rust build-up, run the dishwasher without soap and add a ½ cup of CLR to the main cycle or once the machine is at least halfway filled with water.  Be sure to pour in an additional 3 cups of water after you have poured in CLR.  After the full cycle has completed, run an additional full cycle with just water to clean out any remaining CLR.

Tools – You are proud of your tools.  Keep them looking their best!  The rust on the hammer that you left outside all winter and the calcium, lime and rust buildup on your shovel… all gone with an application of CLR!  Mix equal amounts of CLR and warm water.  Apply directly to the calcium, lime or rust stain with a brush, cloth or sponge and rinse promptly with cold, clean water.  If the stain does not disappear, use CLR full strength and then wipe and rinse promptly with cold, clean water.  CLR is corrosive if left on too long.  Never leave CLR on any surface for more than two minutes.

Cement – Have you ever had an old car in your driveway that leaked oil or changed your lawnmower’s oil in the garage and spilled some?  If you have, you know that it is an unsightly mess and how difficult it is to clean up.  Not with Grease Magnet.  While wearing rubber gloves, simply pour Grease Magnet onto the spill, allow it to soak for a few minutes and then with a brush or broom loosen the stain.  Rinse the area with cold, clean water and the stain is gone!

CLR Grease Magnet is a fast-acting, powerful cleaner formulated to make short work of cleaning stubborn oil, grease and tar from a wide variety of surfaces.  To use Grease Magnet, sweep the area clean of heavy dirt and dust.  For stains such as tar or heavy grease, scrape off as much as possible with a putty knife before cleaning.  Test a small, hidden area of the surface first before cleaning the main area.  Pour or brush full strength to an area no larger than 12" x 12".  Depending on the size and difficulty of the stain, let the solution soak for one to five minutes.  Clean the area with a brush or broom until the stain is loosened.  Rinse at once with cool, clean water.  Repeat the process if necessary.

Humidifier - Hard water build-up will interfere with or shut down the operation of your humidifier.  Hard water build-up clogs the pores in your humidifier filter not allowing the water to run smoothly through the filter.  To clean the filter, submerge the filter completely in CLR and let the filter soak until the pores clear out.  Using rubber gloves, remove the filter from the solution, rinse with clean water and reinstall the filter in your humidifier.

Your humidifier filter is not the only place that calcium can build up.  Inspect and clean your humidifier of any other hard water build-up using CLR.  To clean the humidifier, mix equal amounts of CLR and warm water.  While wearing rubber gloves, apply the solution directly to the calcium, lime or rust stain with a brush, cloth or sponge.  Rinse the area promptly with cold, clean water. If the stain does not disappear, use CLR full strength, wipe and rinse promptly with cold, clean water.

HINT:  Clean your humidifier and filter in the fall before you turn on your humidifier and then in the spring.  Spring cleaning will eliminate the build-up before it hardens while your humidifier sits idol.  In the fall, inspect your filter and humidifier again and clean any sediment that may have built up while your system was off.
